We are happy to invite you to the 14th International Workshop on Adaptive Optics for Industry and Medicine (AOIM) 2026, which will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from June 22ndto June 26th, 2026. The Gothenburg workshop will carry on the tradition of previous meetings, from the inaugural workshop held in Shatura in 1997 to the previous workshop in Padova 2024.

The overall goal of AOIM is to discuss recent advancements, prevailing practices, and prospective directions of adaptive optics, with a special focus on its applications in the fields of industry and medicine. The workshop offers an opportunity for both industry professionals and academics to meet and exchange ideas and experiences of adaptive optics and related domains, and the single-session format ensures that attendees can take part in all activities.
Delegates are actively encouraged to present and discuss their work by submitting an abstract for consideration as either an oral presentation or a poster display. The deadline for early bird registration and abstract submission is April 30th, 2026.
The members of the local organization committee are Zoran Popovic (CSO at Profundus AB), Associate Professor Caroline Adiels and Professor Giovanni Volpe from the Department of Physics at the University of Gothenburg, and Professor Antonio Ancona and Associate Professor Fredrik Sikström from the Division of Industrial automation at University West.
The workshop will be held at the Wallenberg Conference Centre on Medicinareberget in Gothenburg. On Sweden’s stunning west coast, Gothenburg blends Scandinavian charm with a vibrant, international spirit. The most convenient international access to Gothenburg is through Landvetter Airport, approximately 20 minutes from the city centre.
